Organizing vs Cleaning

This is an exceptionally analyzed concern for most of my clients when I initially meet with them to onboard the property: ‘When I start cleaning, it ALWAYS takes longer because I start reorganizing.’ Lucky for them, and me, I can separate these tasks easily and focus on cleaning their home. Upkeeping a home properly should include proper organizational habits and tools to assist with cleaning, but often homeowners let domestic tasks pile up until it almost becomes unmanageable; this is where my services come in. Fortunately for the clients in my area, I handle all of the cleaning for their homes and dissociate the clutter from the cleaning. Fortunately for me, I can articulate the difference between the two for your benefit.

Organizing and cleaning are two different tasks. They coincide closely because having an organized home aids with cleaning but can sometimes hinder cleaning. Commonly, when one starts cleaning, the natural urge to reappropriate items to their preordained place takes precedence and negates cleaning. My simple solution to this is to separate organizing and cleaning by a day. Yes, a whole day. Plan to organize the day or night before you want to clean so it motivates you and makes the cleaning tasks easier. Here's what I do to organize my homes:

dirty kitchen, clean kitchen,

-get rid of trash

-collect any stray dishes and put them in the dishwasher

-gather any stray clothes and appropriate them to the dirty bin or hang up

-reposition any decor: blankets, pillows, nicknacks

Easy! This is also a great end of day closer to make your mornings pristine and renewed. Now your home is simplified for cleaning the next day. This may take some mental practice but don’t stress yourself, practicing this will make it a fun habit that you will find easier with renewed vigor.

To start tackling cleaning tasks, my professional advice would be to attend to each room until the rest of the house is done. If by the miraculous chance you have a limited amount of time, start with organizing in the morning, have a snack break, then commence with cleaning as prescribed. Happy cleaning and I hope you enjoyed this simplified solution for undertaking basic home care.
